Ah, that would explain it alright ;-)
Our wiki documentation actually gas the following. Maybe we should also
add it to the frontend:
"It is possible to add switches without SNMP polling but this is
strongly discouraged as SNMP is built heavily into the switch and switch
port management."

I doubt that platform was detected? If you want to us to add
platform support for that in the next release, follow the instructions here:
