Subject: Re: [ixpmanager] SNMP Issue
Barry,
Turns out I was getting zealous on my base installs and a secondary implementation of SNMP along with several syntax errors were my problem!!!
I thank you all for helping me realize I need to continue to mantra - recheck, re-read, face-palm
I am not able to get SNMP requests from the switches.
Thank you,
Levi Pederson

I'm assuming you replaced $community and $hostname with appropriate
values for your switches?

Right, this is not an IXP Manager issue.
If you cannot poll the switch by standard snmp, IXP Manager won't be able to.
You're not being forthcoming with details Levi so there is a limit to what we can do to help without guessing. Standard checks would include:
- switch is ping-able from the IXP Manager host
- snmp v2c configured on the switch
- acl allows snmp requests from the IXP Manager host
- DNS configured correctly and switch name in $hostname correctly resolves
I've Google'd for values of 'snmp(cmd|get|walk) "no host available"' and I'm not seeing any results that indicate that "No host available" is a standard snmpget response?
