Hi Brian.
Thanks for the feedback - here are my comments:

The was referenced in the release notes:

Additionally, this release closes #180 by de-INEX-ifying the peering
manager. Please see updated documentation at:

Note that you are quite possibly the first (after INEX) to start using
this functionality so those notes were really aimed at you ;-)

If you refer to the install notes, it is assumed that you do not use the
stock / provided file:
http://git.io/5GoO2A
I.e. instructions say move it to /usr/local/etc/ixpmanager.conf (or
whatever works for you - these aren't hard and fast rules).
But, even if you did use the stock file, it should have caused a Git
conflict versus an overwrite?
In any case, naming it like this was probably a bad idea and I've just
pushed a commit to move it to ixpmanager.conf.dist: http://git.io/fh_uqg
Note that the docs referenced above are updated to reflect this.

We can't account for every OS and use case. It you refer to this
particular section of the docs - http://git.io/Mnf1jA - you'll see we say:

The script control-sflow-detect-ixp-bgp-sessions should be copied to the
operating system startup directory so that sflow-detect-ixp-bgp-sessions
is started as a normal daemon.

I just added '(and edit if necessary)' to this. These files should just
be copied (and edited) as advised.
