[ixpmanager] NEWbie Question - Best OS

Ive been reading through some of the documentation. I will admit I haven’t full read it all.  I am wondering what the easiest OS to bring up to install on?  It appears FreeBSD might be the best?

Any direction would be greatly helpful.
