Hi all,

now that the summer hiatus is well and truly behind us, I just wanted to
give a quick update on IXP Manager under the headings above.

Sponsorship
===========

We opened a call for sponsorship earlier this year - full details at:
http://www.ixpmanager.org/sponsorship.php

We are delighted to announce that our year one funding goal of €65,500
is nearly complete thanks to the generous support of ISOC (€21k),
Netflix (€20k), SwissIX (€15k) and NIX (€2k). Thank you all very much!

We'd really love to complete the goal with small amounts from some IXPs
that currently use IXP Manager. Please let us know if you can help.

On a personal note, it is extremely gratifying that these organisations
and, particularly, the individuals within them, have stepped forward
with this significant funding purely on the basis of our call for
sponsorship. I think it says a lot about the project but all the trust
that people have shown in us - and we will deliver! All of the sponsors
have also committed to more funding in years two and three which is
brilliant and lets us hire and plan in confidence. Thanks again!

Hiring a PHP Developer
======================

Now that the money committed to date is all in the account, we want to
hire a PHP developer to start on this project as soon as possible.

Ideally this person will work with Nick and myself in our offices in
Dublin. Full details at:

http://www.islandbridgenetworks.ie/jobs.html

We haven't budgeted for recruitment fees and would dearly love to avoid
that.

Can you help by sharing the link above to the job advert (or retweeting
https://twitter.com/ixpmanager/status/777819806452092928 )? There may be
a PHP developer out there in your communities who'd love to come and
work in Dublin for a while

Logo
====

We commissioned a new logo for IXP Manager and the winning effort can be
seen at: http://www.ixpmanager.org/

This is mainly for project branding and recognition on the project
websites, presentations and so on. We'll also create a couple versions
for "SUPPORTER" and "SPONSOR".

Thanks again,

 - Barry
