hi,
an ixp has several tools that need to work; it helps, that, when you
think about an IX, you think about these tools, their function, and
idiosyncratic purposes, separately. and then, in the context of this
mailing list, ixpmanager would simply be “a tool, that ties (some/most
of)the other tools, together”.

that assumes that you want to peer the bgp-rc to the bgp-rs.
how would you otherwise setup a bgp-rs peer?

it is not. in many ixps networks are loathe to peer with route-servers,
but not with route-collectors. route-collector sessions can show you
_more_ prefixes than a filtered route-server session. -shrug- it
really all comes down to “why are you running this service?”

that’s a policy issue. presumably, your membership/participants will
tell you what they want, and what serves them better?

do you support peers filtering their prefixes to the route-server. if
you do, then this is a bad idea. treat all peers equally.
