For development we use Vagrant. We've updated this significantly in 
development for release v7 and will be speaking about it more when we 
merge our development branch into the public repository.

Regarding Docker, short answer re it becoming an official methodology 
for production: no, sorry. We don't have the in house experience with 
Docker and would not be comfortable stating official support without the 
ability to maintain it on the core team.
